Did You Know We Can Place Crowns In One Visit?

In the past, hearing your dentist say you needed a crown meant bracing yourself for between two and three visits to finish the repair. Now, your Greenville, TX, dentist offers an alternative: one-visit crowns using CEREC® technology. Find out how we can craft and place a natural looking restoration in just a single visit.

When Does My Smile Need Repair?

A crown covers the visible portion of your tooth, which means we employ them to address a wide array of cosmetic and restorative issues. For example, they can repair chipped and cracked teeth, complete a root canal to protect the tooth, and even treat advanced cases of tooth decay. We use them to lengthen worn down teeth and to help secure a dental bridge. If you’re receiving a single tooth dental implant, they can complete your new tooth. Of course, they can also reshape a malformed tooth or mask severe discoloration.

The CEREC® System

To begin, we need to make room for your restoration by removing a thin layer of structure from the tooth. Next, we use a digital imaging device to gather a series of detailed pictures of your tooth. We then use these images to create a detailed 3D model of your tooth, which allows us to design the restoration. We upload the information into the onsite CEREC milling machine, which creates them from ceramic. Next, we check the fit, make any necessary last-minute adjustments, and place the completed crown with a powerful bonding agent. The entire process only takes one visit to complete, meaning you leave our office with a healthier smile!

A Lifelike Option

The ceramic we craft them with is strong, able to absorb every day bite forces and protect the tooth from injury. In addition, the material can mimic the translucent appearance of natural tooth enamel, and can be shaded to blend with your surrounding teeth seamlessly. Once in place, they will match the rest of your smile. No one will be able to tell you’ve had a restoration placed! We want to make sure our patients enjoy restorations that improve function and health, while also obtaining an attractive smile, one they’ll be eager to show the world. If you have any questions about the CEREC system, or if you’re ready to seek treatment for a damaged or misshapen tooth, then contact our team today.
